What I'm Loving.....Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

It's that time again!  Time for another installment of "What I'm Loving".  I've recently been trying out alot of new products. As you may have noticed, there have been a TON of new product releases lately.  It's normally that way every time a new season starts. Just been a little overloaded trying to keep up.  However, I've been pacing myself.  I decided it's best to take a few weeks to really test out products.  That allows me time to really get a good feel for them.  I want my reviews to be as honest and accurate as possible. With that said, let's get into it.....

The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge was released late last fall.  Real Techniques is a brand best know for there makeup brushes. There brushes are great quality and very affordable.  The perfect brushes for any beginner/experienced makeup enthusiast. The brand then ventured out into other beauty tools with this sponge.  This sponge is a definite game changer.

For a few year now, the ever popular beauty blender has reigned supreme.  All the beauty gurus and well-known MUAs were using this as their go-to blending tool. The sponge made applying liquids and creams result in an airbrush finish. MUAs could create flawless looks by using this tool for many applications. The hype of this sponge grew rapidly over time.  As a result, the beauty blender became one of the top-selling and widely-used beauty tools.

However, now we have the Miracle Complexion Sponge!!!

What I'm Loving.....MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick

Hello Beauty Gems -

Welcome to another Thursday "What I'm Loving " post. Today I'm loving my MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Dreaminess.  Dreaminess is a cool tone pink color (works with most skin complexions). However, I'm a darker complexion. Even though this is a cool tone pink, I do pair it with a darker pink/purple lip color. It's the perfect year round pink. Not to mention, this lipstick feels absolutely amazing on the lips.  It applies so smoothly and doesn't settle into fine lines.

The description from the MAC site is "A 77-Mineral Moist Complex that instantly nourishes lips with maximum moisture in a lightweight, non-sticky formula. Larger bullet applies bright, long lasting colour in a single stroke. Medium shine finish, buildable coverage. Magnetic closure." A fav in my collection.

What I'm Loving - Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Ooh La La Sexy Eyes Trio

So finally I'm resuming my "What I'm Loving" Thursdays. For those of you that are new to my blog....WELCOME!!!  In the past, I would post a quick blurb about products I've been really loving for that week.  So starting this week, I thought I'd resume these posts.

I am loving the Physicians Formula (PF) Sexy Booster Ooh La La Sexy Eyes Trio.

Many of you have seen the PF brand in most drugstores.  Over the last few years, PF has been producing sets of their various products.  Perfect for trying out different products at once.  The only downside is if you don't like something and love everything else included, your stuck with it.

This particular set includes an Eyeliner pencil, Felt-Tip eyeliner and a Kohl Kahal eyeliner.  Packaging is very cute.  PF has done a great job with branding their new products.  The products are more attractive and appealing to the eye.  Even if you're not 100% sure about the product(s), the packaging alone will urge you to buy it. This trio includes a case for all 3 products.  The case is covered with "fishnet" like material; gives it more sex appeal. The only piece missing off of my case was the "shoe" accessory (featured on all of the new sexy booster products; see below).

Just picked up one that didn't have it I guess; no biggie. Let's start off with the Felt-Tip Eyeliner.  You have .6 ml liters of product.  The liner is very dark, matte black color (comes across alot lighter in the pic than actual color in person).

With each use, you have to shake the liner so the product can fill the felt-tip applicator.  The applicator is firm which doesn't allow for one complete application across the eye (short strokes). Although the liner is not waterproof, it does last a very long time (claim of up to 24hour wear for all 3 products). This liner has been my go-to for the the last few weeks.  I love the lasting power, color payoff and precision of the tip for doing a winged line.

The Kohl Kajal liner I really like as well.  This product is ideal for tight-lining or use on your waterline.  The only downside is it's not as dark as other kohl liners I've used.

The only item I'm not a big fan of is the eyeliner pencil.  The color is very dull and it seems to "streak" when applying. However, with a few extra strokes, you can get a pretty dark application. It's also not easy to apply; hard consistency (a BIG pet peeve for me with eyeliner pencils).  This I'd consider to be that one item I would pass on and give to a friend.

This set was a little pricey $11.99 ($12.95 on the PF website).  However, I did manage to purchase this during a BOGO 50% off sale. CVS Pharmacy runs this sale alot on PF products (check out your local CVS locations for more info).

Overall, if possible, I'd repurchase only the Felt-Tip and Kohl Kajal liners. I'm very happy with my purchase. Even more ecstatic that I got it on sale....THANKS CVS!!!!

My Two Cents - Lorac After Glo Eyeshadow Palette

Hey Beauty Gems!!!

I'm cranking out the reviews for you as fast as I can.  I've been doing alot of shopping/browsing of all the new products for spring/summer season.  As well, I've been taking advantage of some major deals.

As you saw from my Instagram pic a few weeks back, I picked up one of the new Lorac palettes.  The Lorac afterGlo palette was just released about a month or so ago.  I came across this while shopping during the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Steals.  After only a few uses so far, I just can't get enough.

After the release of their Pro and Pro-To-Go palettes, it's been one great palette after the other. However, the afterGlo palette is a little more unique in comparison to those.  Let's get down to business and learn more about the afterGlo shall we....

If you're looking for a small, travel friendly palette with a bright/neutral mix colors, this is one you have to try.
The afterGlo eyeshadow palette contains 10 assorted matte and satin finish shades.  Below are some swatches from the palette (starting from left to right):

Lastly are the larger sized shadows (shown below). Please take my word for it when I say these colors are amazing.  The first color is more of a neutral vanilla.  I'd primarily use this as an all over base or brow bone color. The next one is more of a neutral peach tone. This shadow is more versatile in that you could use it as an all over, lid, brow bone or crease/transition color.  Perfect for those who want a little color without going overboard.  Also any skin tone can wear this color.  Both colors have a satin finish and no fallout. 

The colors have great pigmentation (some of the mattes aren't as pigmented but easily buildable), apply and blend beautifully on the eye and are long wearing.  Below is a look I created using only the shadows from this palette (excuse me and my red allergy eyes):

Overall, this palette is a must have.  It's versatile (ideal for all skin tones and can be used to create various day/night looks), buttery smooth, easily blends and affordable.  The greatest part is that this palette retails for only...(drum roll please) $24!!!!  Yes that wasn't a typo, only $24. In my opinion, one of the best deals for a high-end palette I've seen this season.  

This particular palette is only available at Ulta stores and online at Ulta. Lorac did release a 2nd afterGlo palette.  However, the colors are a little different and the casing is gold.  The other palette can only be purchased through the Lorac website. My suggestion would be to check out the palette there first and see which one or if both suit your needs.

The ONLY downside to this palette....no color names/labels. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind doing this (maybe just for limited edition purposes).  We shall see. My Two Cents: Kat Von D Chrysalis Eyeshadow Palette

I'm back FINALLY!!!  I've missed you all so much.  I took a 2 week hiatus due to vacation and other things.  It's been a very busy time for me. Well know your resident beauty 411 correspondent  is back and ready to share the latest and greatest on all things beauty....  So here to bring you some 411 hot off the press of a brand new KVD palette.

KVD recently released 2 new palettes the Chrysalis and Monarch. I purchased the Chrysalis palette 2 weeks ago. Just by reputation and love of most things from KVD, this was a definite buy for me. The Monarch palette consist of more warm color tones; Chrysalis has cool color tones. The Chrysalis palette is a mix of 12 matte and pearl finish eye shadows.

Before I get into the colors themselves, let's review the palette design.

If you're an avid KVD fan and follower, you're very familiar with the beautiful and unique designs of KVD products.  The Chrysalis palette is just as gorgeous as it's predecessors. The amazing butterfly design and color makes the casing a work of art. I can safely say this is one of the best designed palettes of 2014 thus far (in my opinion at least). The palette also has a magnetic closure for safe keeping.

The slim and sturdy design makes this an ideal travel companion. OK now let's get into color.....Here's a picture of the 1st set of colors:

The first collection of colors above are: Hybrid Moments (matte deep purple), Mezzanine (sparkle violet) and Transition (pearl mauve).  Mezzanine and Transition are perfect lid colors. They both give you that burst of color to draw focus to your eyes. Hybrid makes a great color for the outer "V" and/or crease color. You can even go bold and rock Hybrid as a stand-alone lid color. 

Our second set of colors are Glasswing (matte caramel), Melancholia (pearl silver) and Black Milk (matte gray). Glasswing is a perfect crease color and/or for blending out harsh edges.  Melancholia is a great color to use on the lid (one that can be used alone with just a subtle color to blend out the edges). Black Milk is a little chalky with some fallout.  However, great pigment and beautiful; one that could be used for day/night looks. I mistakenly did the swatch on my fingertips in backwards order. The swatch on my left finger is Black Milk; far right finger is Glasswing. 

The third set of colors include: Graphic Nature (pearl charcoal), Entombed (pearl blue) and Tornay (matte navy). Once again the color swatches on my fingertips (specifically the 2 on either end) are in the wrong order, my apologies. They are displayed in reverse order. Both Graphic Nature and Entombed are amazing. Ideal colors for an evening look. You could also create a great look for day (just use a light hand to apply a wash of color to the lid).  Tornay can be ideal for adding definition to the outer 'V' of your eye and/or an outline to create a cut crease look.   

Each of the above shadows is .049 ounces of product. The last set of larger shadows (.095 ounces each) are: Lifelike (matte cream), Lunar Lights (pearl gray) and Lucid (sparkle rose). These 3 make for perfect browbone colors.  Lifelike and Lunar Lights could also be worn alone.  My apologies as the finger swatches are not a true representation of the color. Refer to the swatches on my arm for better accuracy. Also, both arm and finger swatches are in backwards order. I know I did it once again. So sorry for that.    

The only not so great things about this palette are:

• Shadow Fallout - Some of the shades you'll notice have some fallout but not much.  Something to keep in mind when applying your makeup.  To avoid this, be sure to use a smaller, more dense brush when applying shadows to the lid. Also applying primer and/or shadow base before hand can help immensly.

• Color Options - This is a cool-toned palette. For those of you more into an everyday "natural" look, you may get limited use out of this palette.  However, KVD offers the Monarch palette.....may be a more suitable option for you.  

Overall, this palette is amazing and I'm so in love with it. The quality and pigmentation alone are outstanding.. KVD you just keep producing amazing products. Kudos to the folks at KVD for developing innovative and signature products.  Every aspect from the product quality, design and uniqueness are stellar. 

I'd even recommend to you gems looking into purchasing both (if you can).  The value well exceeds the $46 price tag. This palette can be purchased exclusively at Sephora stores and website
