Drugstore Fall Beauty Haul

The fall season is now upon us and you know what that means...shop till you drop for the latest and greatest beauty products.  I've been in the store wayyyy too much the last 2 weeks.  Fortunately, my makeup addiction is your gain.  I'll be sharing my reviews of the products I've purchased.  This helps you to be a more "savvy makeup junkie"  and purchase the best products out there....AND gives you a peek at other products you may want to check out....

Last week, I completed a total of 2 hauls (Ulta & Walmart).  I was browsing around Walmart looking for one thing I NEEDED and came out that and more....

Here's my 411 on the goods...

E.L.F. Studio Baked Eyeshadow in Bark... I never noticed before but apparently my local Walmart is now carrying ELF products. ELF has been expanding their brand in the last few years to various department stores...great to have easy access to a decent, inexpensive cosmetic brand.   While I don't love ALL their products, there are many I do...one of them being their baked eye shadows.  Just in time for fall I picked up these two beautiful colors....Bark and Pixie.  Let's start with Bark....a great taupe brown that can be worn wet/dry. Rule of thumb...with baked eye shadows, wearing them wet will intensify the color payoff. In the swatch below, the left swatch is dry; right is wet (without a primer underneath).

Imagine what the colors will do with a nice eye primer!!! My other purchase was the beautiful Pixie (swatched below left side dry; right side wet swatch). Although the picture makes this color look more pink, this shadow does have some mauve undertone to it.  My apologies as this picture doesn't do it justice.

Overall, great color payoff and a MUST have for your collection.  These colors are versatile enough that you could incorporate them into various looks throughout the year.  These shadows retail for $3 each; a great bargain regardless.

Next UP.....Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolors

If you haven't heard from the million and one ads Maybelline has released in the last year....color sensational lip colors are one of the best selling drugstore lines out there.  While the line has been out for a over a year now, Maybelline keeps making the line bigger and better by expanding it's color ranges. For a drugstore brand, they really do provide alot of the benefits of a highend lippie....pigmentation, lasting power and various color options.  I'm babbling......here are my new favs that I picked up:

315 Broadway Bronze... neutral color with subdue gold shimmer. This color would be faboo on any skintone year round.  A great color to wear whenever you want a subtle 9 to 5 look OR to complete a dramatic eye look.

440 Mauve It Up....(Yes I have been using this already ALOT) What did I ever do without you my darling???? A beautiful mauve color that would compliment any dark fall shadow looks.  Just one of those lipsticks that gives you color payoff but nothing over the top.  Please note this color is not as dark as it may look in the picture... However, you could pair the lipstick with a darker lipstick (mix the two if you're feeling adventurous) or liner.  Definitely a color you could pull off day or night. Versatile enough that I think medium to dark skin tones could wear.

420 Deepest Cherry....Vamp it up with the beautiful brick red/brown infused color. This color is for the adventurous makeup enthusiast at heart.

425 Plum Paradise....Another great plum color. Consider this color a happy medium between Mauve It Up and Deepest Cherry.

There are swatches of all 4 colors below in the following order: Broadway Bronze, Deepest Cherry, Mauve It Up and Deepest Cherry.

All in all great colors that are a must have for your fall lip collection. They apply smoothly, won't dry out your lips and great color payoff. The lipsticks have decent staying power; not as good as some of the high end brands but still good.

Now....what fall colors would not be complete without a great gloss.....I've only found the one so far and it's beautiful.....

Maybelline Limited Edition Color Sensational High Shine Lipgloss in Chocolate Lust (315).   Such a beautiful lipgloss in a dark brown color. Along with the lipcolors, the lipglosses are just as wonderful.  A great buy for the price (lip colors and glosses retail around $5.00 each).  Maybelline has released the limited edition colors that you can find in your local drugstore.

Last but not least.....this wonderful gem is something I'd recommend you purchase in ALL colors.  The Jordana Easyliner for Lips in Plush Plum.  Simply amazing.....a great bargain for such a nice lip liner. This berry color lip liner can be used to line you lips with colors slightly lighter and darker than the liner color itself. I've used this all over my lips and it's helped with prolonged wear of my lipstick.  If you don't know, now you know......go to your nearest Walmart or visit www.jordanacosmetics.com ASAP. These liners retail for $2.99 each.

I'd love to hear from you!!! Please let me know what products you've added to your fall makeup lineup or if you've tried any from my haul and what you think.
